The body of a forcibly disappeared youth has been recovered in Balochistan’s Turbat district, marking the third such discovery in the region within 24 hours.

The victim was identified as Sher Khan Nazar, a resident of Pasni, who was forcibly disappeared from the Jusak area of Turbat on 15 April. His disappearance had earlier been highlighted by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a group documenting enforced disappearances in the region.

Local sources said Sher Khan’s body showed signs of torture. His remains were found on Wednesday and handed over to his family.

A day earlier, the body of a minor boy, identified as Nizam, son of Mahmood, was recovered from the Pasni tehsil of Gwadar district. He had allegedly been detained by Pakistani intelligence agencies on 12 April and remained missing for several days before his body was found.

In another incident, a body recovered in the Naal area of Khuzdar was identified as Farooq Ahmed, the son of Noor Ahmed Mengal, the district vice president of the Balochistan National Party (BNP). Farooq had reportedly been forcibly disappeared on 14 April.

BYC Condemns Killing of ‘Forcibly Disappeared’ Youths

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee issued a statement condemning the killings. The group said Nizam Baloch had been abducted from his home and later found dead, his body bearing bullet wounds and signs of torture.

The group also alleged that Farooq Ahmed had been abducted due to his father’s political involvement in the Lakpass sit-in protest, which had demanded the release of detained BYC leaders. His murder, the group said, was an act of reprisal.

“These young men were abducted, tortured, and killed, just like thousands of other forcibly disappeared Baloch youth,” the BYC said in its statement. “This is part of a collective punishment policy aimed at silencing dissent.”

The group said that in recent months, enforced disappearances and killings have increasingly targeted students and underage youth. It accused the state of trying to dismantle the BYC and suppress the movement against enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.

The discovery of Sher Khan’s body brings the number of recovered victims in Balochistan over the past day to three. The BYC warned that the targeting of activists, including the detention of its entire central leadership, was part of a broader attempt to silence protest and resistance.

The group urged the Baloch public to remain vigilant and united in the face of increasing repression.
