China has reportedly asked Afghanistan to take action against Baloch refugees living in the country.
Baloch journalist Kiyya Baloch said on X that a well-informed source revealed Beijing recently urged Kabul to expel Baloch refugees during a diplomatic exchange.
He added that earlier reports in Pakistani media suggested China’s Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs had met with Pakistani officials to discuss the matter.
It is important to note that thousands of Baloch people have fled their homes due to military operations in Balochistan. Many now live as refugees in Afghanistan, Iran, and other neighboring countries.
In the past, Baloch refugees in Afghanistan and Iran have been targeted and killed. Baloch nationalist groups accuse Pakistani intelligence agencies of orchestrating these incidents as part of what they call “collective punishment.”
