Student organizations in Balochistan staged a joint protest outside the Quetta Press Club on Thursday, voicing opposition to alleged police violence, detentions of Baloch and Pashtun students, and the closure of hostels at Bolan Medical College (BMC).

Participants included members of the Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC), Pashtun Students Federation (PSF), Baloch Students Organization (BSO), BSO Pajjar, and Pashtunkhwa Students Organization. A large number of students and supporters from various sectors joined the demonstration.

Protesters claimed that more than 128 students had been detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 3 ordinance. They said the closure of BMC hostels has caused significant distress among students.

Political figures also attended the protest, including Ghulam Nabi Marri from BNP, Asghar Khan Achakzai from ANP, Dr. Ishaq Baloch from the National Party, and BYC activist Gulzadi Baloch.

Speakers condemned the police actions and called for the immediate release of detained students and the reopening of BMC hostels.

They urged authorities to address the students’ demands and hold those responsible for the reported violence accountable.
