The Meteorological Department has forecasted a new spell of rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills in most parts of Balochistan for Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, Turbat, Nokkundi, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Chaghai, Panjgur, Washuk, Dalbandin, Kharan, and Gwadar are expected to experience rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills. Elsewhere in Balochistan, the weather is likely to remain cold and dry.

Recent temperature records from the Meteorological Department indicate minimum temperatures of -6°C in Kalat, -4°C in Quetta, and 10°C in Gwadar and Turbat, among other areas. The forecast suggests that the cold spell will continue, with temperatures expected to remain significantly low over the next 24 hours.

Additionally, a private weather station has predicted that two new westerly waves are expected to bring more rainfall to Karachi and various parts of Balochistan between March 5 and March 10.

The first westerly wave, expected to enter Balochistan on March 5-6, will likely affect several areas within Balochistan. The subsequent weather system, arriving on March 9-10, is anticipated to cause heavy rainfall in coastal regions including Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, and the Makuran coast.
