Two major “pro-independence” armed groups carried out three separate attacks on Pakistani forces in different areas of Balochistan, reportedly resulting in casualties.

According to reports, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed in a press release on Friday that Sarmachars (freedom fighters) killed a Pakistani army officer in a sniper attack in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.

Major Gohram Baloch, the spokesperson for BLF, stated that a BLF sniper shot and killed an “enemy” officer standing outside the checkpoint of the Pakistan Army in Bagani Kaur area of Gwadar at 4:30 pm on February 14.

BLF also claimed responsibility for another attack on the security of the Pakistani forces’ picket on Sorap Bridge in Turbat Gokdan area of Kech district. The BLF spokesperson mentioned that the attack was carried out with automatic weapons. He added that their fighters had already laid an ambush and waited for the enemy to come. As soon as two officers entered the post, they attacked them severely, killing one officer on the spot and injuring another.

Meanwhile, another Baloch armed group, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), stated in a press release on Friday that BLA fighters targeted a post of the Pakistani army in an attack in Sibi on Thursday night.

BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that their fighters attacked the post of the “enemy army near the railway station in the suburbs of Dhadar with automatic weapons, killing two enemy personnel on the spot and injuring many.”

The Pakistan armed forces have not yet commented over the claims of Baloch armed groups.

Both armed groups vowed to continue their attacks on Pakistani forces until the independence of Balochistan.
