Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam Fazal u Rehman group (JUI-F) rejected CM Balochistan’s invitation for joining the government.
According to reports, JUI F Balochistan’s leader, Maulana Abdul Wasey announced the news while addressing a press conference on Monday. “We have decided in principle to reject CM Balochistan’s offer”, Maulana Abdul Wasey said in the press conference.
He said the Chief Minister was not giving portfolios as per the presence and support of the religious party in the Balochistan Assembly. “JUI F will not make any compromise over governance”, he said. From now onward, we will intensify our campaign against bad governance in Balochistan, Maulana said.
Maulana Wasey said his lawmakers would raise voices against what he called the sale of government jobs and development projects in Balochistan. “Our party would not be silent now”, he warned.
The announcement of the rejection has come two weeks after Chief Minister Balochistan Qudoos Bizenjo invited the religious party to join the government. Bizenjo and Maulana Wasey held four meetings to reach a consensus with regard to the implementation of the charter of demand given by the religious party for joining the government. However, no breakthrough was made in the negotiations.
While JUI-F and former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan vowed to give a tough time to Chief Minister Quddus Bizenjo. Jam Kamal visited the residence of Maulana Abdul Wasey and sought reconciliation.
Jam Kamal and former provincial ministers Saleem Khoso and Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani sought an apology over an incident inside the assembly premises on October 18, 2021. It is to be recalled that Maulana Abdul Wahid Siddiqui, the JUI F lawmaker was injured when an armored vehicle hit the gate of the Balochistan Assembly during a protest of opposition lawmakers against the Jam Kamal-led government.
“We would give a tough time to the present government”, Maulana Wasey told reporters. The JUI F lawmakers and Jam Kamal held a separate meeting, which discussed all ways and means to mount pressure on the present government.
