Three persons, including a woman, were shot dead in a firing incident in the Naseerabad district of Balochistan on Friday, the sources have confirmed.
According to the details, the victim — identified as Waheeda — was shot dead in the Mangoli area of Naseerabad by unknown assailants. A man named Fida Hussain was also killed in the incident. It is not clear what motivated the events, but the locals speculate that there might be “business” reasons behind the attack.
The police handed over the dead bodies to the family members of the victims after a preliminary investigation.
In a separate incident in Naseerabad, a man named Khuda Baksh was also shot dead in broad daylight. The authorities have said that they are investigating the incident.
The crimes against women have escalated in Balochistan in the past couple of weeks. A few days ago, a woman was axed to death by her father in district Naseerabad in the name of honour. The culprit also injured another man and fled the scene.
On Thursday, the Pakistani security forces apprehended three women during a search operation in Panjgoor. The sources have said that the security forces detained the said women in the Gichk area of Panjgoor and moved them to an unknown location.
In December 2020, the security forces had “forcibly disappeared” nine individuals from Gick. The detainees included two women and several children.
An intense military operation is in full swing in Gichk, Panjgoor, where the security forces have reportedly “abducted” several individuals. The forces have also set fire on the crops and houses of the locals.
