Baloch leader Karima Baloch’s body has been taken to her ancestral place Tump amid curfew like conditions in the town. Whereas, Baloch Solidarity Committee (BSC) has called for shutter down strike across Balochistan against the response by authorities regarding the situation.

According to details, Karima Baloch’s dead body was taken in a convoy of Pakistani security forces to her hometown Tump. The convoy reached Tump town around 6pm local time, where the mobile services were shut across the district by authorities. An unannounced curfew was also imposed by security forces and people were reportedly barred from leaving their houses in Tump.

Local sources confirmed to TBP that entry and exit routes to and from Tump were manned by Pakistani paramilitary forces Frontier Corps and no one was allowed to leave or enter Tump.

A large number of people reached Dee Baloch Chowk to welcome dead body of Karima Baloch but they were not allowed by authorities to go further. TBP has received video footage of security forces warning locals to stay away or face consequences.

Baloch Solidarity Committee (BSC) has called for a shutter down strike across Balochistan on Monday against what it called as the dishonouring of Karima Baloch’s dead body.

In a press statement, BSC said that Karima Baloch’s dead body was taken into custody by Pakistani forces as soon as it reached Karachi and the family members were not allowed to perform the Baloch leader’s last rites.

BSC said that it calls for a shutter down strike against the treatment of Karima Baloch’s family in Karachi, the blockage of communication systems in Kech district and the curfew in Tump town.

BSC requested the traders to cooperate with them regarding the shutter down strike.

Earlier, Karima Baloch’s dead body was forcibly removed from Karachi by Pakistani authorities against the will of the family. A large convoy of Pakistani security forces escorted the dead body of Baloch leader Karima Baloch out of Karachi. Her family and dead body were taken under custody by authorities at Karachi airport.

Karima Baloch’s body was flown from Canada to Karachi on Sunday.

Karima Baloch’s dead body was found from Toronto, Canada on 21st December. Her family and Baloch political factions claim that she has been murdered, but the officials in the Toronto police department have termed her death as “non-criminal.” Karima Baloch’s family members and political parties of Balochistan have rejected Toronto police’s initial report and have called for further investigation into the mysterious death.
