A Pakistani army ambulance caught fire after mysterious blast, on Sunday evening, in port city of Gwadar. The fire, which completely engulfed the vehicle, injured at least two personnel.

Pakistan Army officials claimed that the blast was caused due to gas cylinder explosion in vehicle.

However, A government official, on condition of anonymity, told Gwadar correspondent of The Balochistan Post: ‘It was clearly not a cylinder blast, the vehicle was attacked by Baloch separatist militants. Military establishment doesn’t want to irk China by showing security failures after receiving billions of dollars for protecting CPEC as a whole and security of Gwadar city in particular’.

Separately, a spokesman of Baloch republican Army (BRA), an armed Baloch group fighting for independence of Balochistan has claimed responsibility for the attack on Pakistan army ambulance on main airport road in Gwadar. Mr Sarbaz Baloch said: ‘Our fighters hurled a hand grenade on vehicle, as a result losses occurred to army’.

The spokesman further said that Pakistan army is trying to hide their losses to appease China by claiming it was a cylinder blast, which is totally a blatant lie.
