Baloch Students Organisation – Azad has said that peaceful political activism in Balochistan has been barred due to use of power by the state.
According to a statement released on Sunday, BSO-A said that political activists are being abducted and killed in Balochistan on daily basis.
‘State forces have converted majority of areas in Balochistan into no-go zones. In these areas Baloch men, women and children are tortured and abducted on daily basis. Even the international organisations are barred from visiting these areas,’ BSO-A statement read.
‘If actions are not taken to resolve the crisis on urgent basis then a humanitarian crisis is imminent in the region,’ BSO-A said.
BSO-A also announced that it will run a social media campaign on 4th October to raise awareness about abduction of Shabeer Baloch.
BSO-A said that organisation’s then information secretary was abducted on 4 October 2016 in front of his wife from Gorkop area of Balochistan. ‘He is missing even after passage of two years.’
