Open Letter from DG Khan for Baloch national institutions
By Naoroz Lashari
I think all of you know about Dera Ghazi Khan and its surrounding neighbourhoods, Taunsa and Rajanpur. These areas were part of Balochistan until the influence of Punjabi establishment and our greedy Sardars when these areas were separated.
Currently, our Sardars are intended to sell these areas to Saraikies.
Saraiki is a language that is spoken by very diverse population of Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. These Sardars are dividing nation now on the bases of Language.
Another important issue is that of BagulChur in Dera Ghazi Khan, where nuclear wastes including Uranium is being disposed. The people in the area use ponds and streams for drinking water, which are now being contaminated with Uanium. This is one of the major causes of cancer and other fatal diseases in the region.
I request Baloch political organisations, social activists and campaign groups to devise policies to counter and resolve these issues. The people of Dera Ghazi khan and adjoining area should not be ignored by their Baloch brethren.
Kind Regards,
Naoroz Lashari
