Five bodies have been recovered from different parts of Balochistan, including that of a man reportedly subjected to enforced disappearance a day earlier, according to local sources.

In Panjgur district, sources said the body of Salman Bangulzai, son of Ghani Bangulzai, was recovered a day after he was allegedly detained and disappeared by Pakistani forces. Further details about the circumstances of his death were not immediately available.

Meanwhile, authorities recovered the body of a man bearing signs of torture from the Lakhorian mountainous area of Surab. The body was shifted to hospital, where the deceased was identified as 28-year-old Jalil Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Samwani Zehri in Khuzdar.

Three other bodies were recovered from different areas of Kech district during the past 24 hours.

In Dasht, the body of a man was found in the Meerani Dam Canal and later identified as Salman, son of Liaquat, a resident of the Khudan area of Dasht. The body was shifted to hospital for legal formalities.

According to Turbat Police, another body was recovered from the Nasirabad area. A COVID-19 vaccination card found in the deceased’s pocket identified him as Badil Khan, while the identity card number listed on the card corresponded to Jhao in Awaran district.

In a separate incident, the body of a local resident, Sher Jan, son of Noor Muhammad, was recovered from a forested area in Meerabad, Turbat, on Friday night and transferred to hospital for medico-legal procedures.

Local sources said the body bore visible signs of torture, indicating that Sher Jan may have been tortured before being killed.

The recovery of bodies from remote areas, roadsides, canals and mountainous terrain has been repeatedly reported across Balochistan. In several cases, the deceased have either remained unidentified or were later identified by relatives, local sources or documents found on them.

Human rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns over alleged enforced disappearances and the subsequent recovery of bodies bearing signs of torture, allegations Pakistani authorities have consistently denied.

In many cases, the circumstances surrounding such deaths remain unclear, while the identities of those responsible are either unknown or have not been established through official investigations.
