The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) said Kamran Baloch, a 20-year-old FSc student from the Moola area of Khuzdar, was killed by what it described as “death squads”.
The BYC said Kamran, son of Lal Baksh, was targeted and killed in Khuzdar on July 8.
“The brutal killing of Kamran Baloch is yet another tragic reminder of the continuing violence against the Baloch people and the deepening human rights crisis in Balochistan,” the group said in a statement.
The statement said the “cycle of Baloch genocide” was intensifying with each passing day.
“Families are repeatedly forced to receive the dead bodies of their loved ones instead of welcoming them home,” the BYC said, adding that fear, grief and loss had become a daily reality for countless Baloch families.
The group said targeted killings, extrajudicial killings, fake encounters and enforced disappearances had created “an atmosphere of constant fear” in Balochistan.
“Every time a child leaves home, their family is left wondering whether they will return alive or whether only their dead body will come back,” the statement said.
The BYC called on the international community, the United Nations, international human rights organisations and those working for justice and human rights to urgently take notice of what it called the grave human rights situation in Balochistan.
“No one is safe: not students, not teachers, not doctors, not labourers, nor ordinary civilians,” the statement said.
There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities to the allegations.
