A mutilated body recovered in Balochistan’s Panjgur district on Tuesday was identified as a young man who had previously been reported missing.
According to police, the body was found on Fateh Ali Bazaar Road in the Gwargo area of Panjgur and was later transferred to Teaching Hospital Panjgur.
The deceased was identified as Habibullah, son of Ahmed.
Local residents and family members said Habibullah had been missing since 24 September 2025. They alleged that he was detained while working in his fields by personnel associated with Pakistani forces and government-backed armed groups locally known as “Death Squads”.
Relatives and local activists alleged that Habibullah was subjected to an extrajudicial killing and that his body was later dumped in the area, where it was recovered on Tuesday. There was no immediate official response to the allegations.
Reports of bodies bearing signs of torture or mutilation continue to emerge from various parts of Balochistan, with human rights groups and local organisations repeatedly raising concerns over enforced disappearances and alleged extrajudicial killings in the region.
