The Baloch Liberation Army’s media wing, Hakkal, has released a video showing multiple IED attacks on Pakistani forces in different parts of Balochistan, including the blast in Chamalang last month in which Pakistani army Major Tauseef Bhatti was targeted.
The footage shows nine IED explosions in Chamalang, Quetta, Zamuran, Kharan, Noshki, Dukki and Surab, with several attacks targeting military vehicles, foot patrols, bomb disposal personnel and military posts.
In the Chamalang footage, a vehicle carrying Major Tauseef Bhatti, a senior Pakistani army officer, can be seen being destroyed in an explosion. Another vehicle is later targeted in an armed attack.
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch had earlier said the Chamalang operation was carried out based on intelligence provided by “ZIRAB”, the BLA’s intelligence wing.
The video also includes footage from Quetta’s Panjpai area, where two vehicles of Pakistani forces are shown being targeted. Authorities had confirmed at the time that four CTD personnel were killed and six others injured in the attack.
In Zamuran, the footage shows an IED attack on Pakistani army personnel on foot on 12 May. A soldier can be seen being directly hit by the blast and thrown several feet into the air.
The video also shows an attack in Kharan in which a bomb disposal squad member was killed, as well as explosions targeting personnel in Dukki and a blast that destroyed a forces’ post in Noshki.
Other clips show the destruction of a bridge on the main highway in Mastung’s Kanak area and an armoured vehicle being destroyed on the Surab main highway.
The final part of the video shows an explosion in the Sah Dem area of Zamuran. In the footage, a bomb disposal squad vehicle and two other vehicles are seen passing before a third vehicle is targeted in the blast.
