The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned the alleged extrajudicial killing of three men in Kech and Panjgur districts, saying the incidents reflect a continuing pattern of enforced disappearances, targeted killings and extrajudicial executions in Balochistan.

In a statement, the BYC said 55-year-old Khuda Peer Muhammad Baloch, son of Haji Abdullah Rasheed, a farmer and respected area elder from Dambani Syahgesi in Zamuran, Kech, was taken into custody by Frontier Corps personnel during a raid on his home at around 4:30am on May 2.

The organization said FC personnel assaulted his family and took him away along with his 25-year-old son, Abdullah Baloch, a driver from the same area.

According to the BYC, Khuda Peer Muhammad had previously raised his voice against the destruction and burning of civilian homes in the area and had warned FC personnel not to carry out such actions there.

The BYC said the bodies of Khuda Peer Muhammad and Abdullah Baloch were dumped near an FC camp about five hours after they were taken into custody.

It described the incident as part of an “ongoing pattern of targeted killings after enforced disappearance and extrajudicial executions” in Balochistan.

In a separate incident, the BYC said 26-year-old Ayaz Baloch, son of Khuda Rahim, a government school cleaner from Tasp in Panjgur, was shot dead near his home in Nokabad at around 9:30pm on April 30.

The group alleged that Ayaz Baloch was killed by a “death squad”.

The BYC said the incidents were not isolated and accused the state of continuing enforced disappearances, targeted killings, extrajudicial executions and unlawful detentions of Baloch women.

It appealed to international human rights organizations and global human rights bodies to take urgent notice of what it described as ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan.

The organization said Balochistan was rich in natural resources, but its people continued to face violence, injustice and underdevelopment.

“Why does the international community see Balochistan’s resources but remain silent on the suffering of Baloch lives?” the BYC said.
