Two police personnel were killed and two others injured in a firing incident in the Bajoi locality of Baghbana in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, officials said.
The deceased included a woman constable and another officer, while Station House Officer Ibrahim Shaikh and officer Najeebullah sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment.
The slain woman officer was identified as Lady Constable Malik Naz, who was killed on April 19 when unidentified gunmen opened fire.
The attack was initially described as an act of terrorism; however, preliminary findings suggested the involvement of armed dacoits allegedly linked to the theft of solar panels in the area. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and motive.
According to official records, Malik Naz had joined the Levies Force in 2013 under the “Shaheed quota” after her husband, Abdul Ghani, was killed in a targeted attack in 2011. She is survived by a son and two daughters.
