Several men were allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani armed forces during a large-scale raid in the Hothabad area of Kech district, local sources said on Thursday.

Sources said Pakistani forces took Riyaz Yaqub, Dad Kareem, Jalil, Saleem, Ali Bakhsh, Sajid, Shah Jahan, Wali and Riyaz Hassan into custody and moved them to an undisclosed location. They said several others were also detained, but their identities could not be immediately confirmed.

Meanwhile, four individuals, including a minor boy, who had allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani armed forces were recovered in Quetta and Kech district.

According to local sources, Mir Naseebullah and a minor boy, Gwahram, who were taken from Killi Qambrani on 4 January, were released and returned home.

In Turbat, Majid, son of Mola Bakhsh, returned after being missing for more than five months, while Noor Ahmed, son of Ali Jan, reappeared after 50 days.

Activists working on enforced disappearances in Balochistan urged the state to produce all missing persons in accordance with the law and ensure justice for affected families.
