The Balochistan Bar Council has strongly condemned the arrest of women and alleged police violence against them during a protest in Manjhoo Shori.

In a press release issued by the Chairman of the Balochistan Bar Council, the council said that taking women into custody and subjecting them to ill-treatment constitutes a clear violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, existing laws, and fundamental human rights.

According to the statement, the women in Manjhoo Shori were engaged in a peaceful protest to seek redress for their legitimate grievances when police intervened and used force, leading to their arrest. The Bar Council said such actions were unacceptable under any circumstances.

The chairman said that mistreatment of women by law enforcement not only contradicts state laws but also raises serious questions about societal values and the credibility of the justice system.

Balochistan Bar Council Chairman Rahib Buledi demanded immediate, transparent, and lawful action against the police officers and personnel involved in the incident. He also called for the immediate release of the detained women.

He emphasized that protecting the fundamental rights of citizens, particularly women, is the primary responsibility of the state, adding that no individual or institution is allowed to act above the law.

The Bar Council warned that if such incidents continue and those responsible are not held accountable, it reserves the right to adopt a strict course of action within the constitutional and legal framework.

The statement concluded by reaffirming that the Balochistan Bar Council will continue to raise its voice on all forums in defense of women’s rights, human dignity, and the rule of law.
