The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Thursday that its fighters carried out multiple attacks targeting Pakistani military personnel and convoys in Balochistan’s Kech, Kalat and Mastung districts, including attacks with explosives and temporary highway blockades.

In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters used a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) on Wednesday to target soldiers on foot in the Kalki area of Zamuran, Kech district. The group said one soldier was killed in the explosion.

The BLA said its fighters also blocked the Quetta–Karachi highway near Manguchar in Kalat district for more than an hour, during which clashes broke out with Pakistani forces. It claimed that two Pakistani soldiers were killed when troops attempted to advance toward the blockade.

According to the statement, the Pakistani army responded by dropping bombs using a quadcopter, but the group said its fighters remained unharmed.

In a separate incident on Thursday, the BLA said its fighters established a blockade near the grade station in the Marao area of Spilinji, Mastung, where they stopped and seized a vehicle allegedly transporting drugs and rations for the military.

The BLA said the operations were part of its ongoing struggle against what it described as “occupying forces” in Balochistan and reaffirmed its determination to continue such actions.

There was no immediate comment from Pakistani authorities on the group’s claims.
