Unknown armed assailants reportedly attacked the residence of Muhammad Asmi s/o Wahid Bakhsh in the Chib area of Balochistan’s Kech district on Tuesday night.
According to local sources, the attackers threw hand grenades at the house and opened indiscriminate fire using automatic weapons. No casualties have been reported in the incident; however, Muhammad Asmi’s house sustained significant damage due to the attack.
Residents of the area suspect that organized, state-backed groups, commonly referred to as “death squads,” may be involved in the attack. Locals allege that these groups have previously carried out similar assaults on the homes of political and social activists in the region.
