At least seven people were killed and 33 others injured in a series of accidents and violent incidents reported across different districts of Balochistan on Sunday.
In one of the most serious incidents, a passenger coach travelling from Khuzdar collided with a coaster near the Bencha area of Kalat district. According to local sources, two people lost their lives and 32 others sustained injuries in the crash. The injured were moved to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
In Quetta, two motorcyclists – identified as Amir Zaman and Younas Khan – were killed in a high-speed collision near the Muhammad Ali petrol pump. A child was also injured in the accident. The deceased and the injured were shifted to the Trauma Centre.
Meanwhile, in the Gandakha area near Osta Muhammad, unidentified armed men opened fire on Abdul Khaliq Jamali, killing him on the spot. The attackers managed to flee the scene. Police arrived shortly after the incident, took the body into custody, and later handed it over to the family after medico-legal formalities. The shooting is believed to be linked to an old enmity, but further investigations are underway.
In a separate incident in Osta Muhammad, a man named Zafarullah Umrani reportedly died by suicide due to domestic disputes.
In another tragic case, 18-year-old Kabir, a resident of Chakiwara Karachi, drowned while swimming in a stream in the Windar area of Lasbela district. Edhi volunteers recovered the body and transported it to a local hospital.
