The reports of enforced disappearances allegedly at the hands of Pakistani security forces continue unabated in Balochistan, with yet another case of abduction being reported.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces detained Sohail, son of Haji Wahid Bakhsh, a resident of Dandar Sol Dasht, and subsequently subjected him to enforced disappearance.
His family has expressed deep concern for his safety, fearing he might be killed in a staged encounter or falsely implicated in fabricated legal cases—similar to numerous past instances across the region.
It is worth noting that several forcibly disappeared individuals have recently been extrajudicially killed in alleged fake encounters in Balochistan, further intensifying the distress of affected families.
Meanwhile, in a rare development, a previously disappeared person has returned home. Daolat, son of Badar, who had reportedly been forcibly disappeared from the Tump Tajaban area of Turbat, has been recovered.
The practice of enforced disappearances remains a grave human rights issue in Balochistan, drawing widespread condemnation from local and international rights groups.
