Haji Hameed Gamshadzaei, chief of the Gamshadzaei tribe, was arrested by Iranian security forces on January 29, 2025, after being summoned to Branch 6 of the Revolutionary Court in Zahedan, according to sources from Western Balochistan.

The reason for his arrest remains unclear. However, reports indicate that he was called to the court via phone, detained after several hours, and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location. Authorities have not released any information regarding formal charges, a summons, or the legal grounds for his detention.

It is noteworthy that Haji Hameed Gamshadzaei had publicly criticized Iranian military and judicial policies during the funeral of his nephew, Abdul Jalil Gamshadzaei, a 20-year-old who was killed by military forces in Golshan.

During the funeral, Haji Hameed condemned Iranian security forces for targeting innocent civilians instead of addressing real criminal elements in the region. He warned of the consequences of continued state violence, remarks that reportedly made him a target for authorities.
