The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for an attack on Levies personnel in the Nichari area of Kalat on October 18, 2024. According to a statement released by BLF spokesperson Major Gohram Baloch, the incident occurred when BLF fighters encountered Levies personnel during a patrol.

The spokesperson stated that the BLF fighters disarmed the Levies personnel and confiscated their weapons before releasing them unharmed. Later that day, around 2:00 PM, the BLF fighters visited a police checkpoint to warn the Levies personnel against obstructing the Baloch national movement and pursuing BLF fighters. The spokesperson claimed that the Levies personnel attempted to attack the BLF fighters, who then took defensive positions for a counterattack.

In the ensuing clash, Levies sepoy Abdul Qayyum was killed, and sepoy Rehmatullah Nichari was injured. The BLF spokesperson expressed regret over the loss of the Baloch lives and extended condolences to the families of the deceased and injured. He reiterated previous warnings to Baloch employees in the police and Levies to avoid activities against the national movement.

The BLF spokesperson emphasized that the organization values the lives and property of the Baloch people and urged them not to become tools of state machinery. He warned that any group or individual aiding “state oppression” would be held accountable in Baloch national court and made to pay for their crimes.

The BLF has taken responsibility for the attack and vowed to target anyone who harms the Baloch national movement under state directives. The spokesperson concluded by warning the police and Levies to refrain from anti-Baloch activities, stating that they would be responsible for their actions.
