A missing person has been released while two more have reportedly fallen victim to enforced disappearance in Gwadar.

According to reports, a teenager identified as Ubaid son of Meer Jalal Khan, who was allegedly detained by Pakistani forces from Balicha, has been released and has returned to the safety of his home. The family has confirmed his release. The victim is the brother of a social activist Zubair Askani.

However, Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies have reportedly detained two more individuals from Gwadar.

The detainees have been identified as Imdad son of Hussain and Adam son of Naseem residents of Dasht

According to details, Imdad Hussain was detained by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies from a shop in Gwadar. While Naseem was allegedly detained on 8th July from Kuntani Gwadar.

It should be noted that Balochistan is witnessing a surge in enforced disappearances. Estimates by Baloch human rights groups put the number of missing persons in several thousand. Many of the missing persons have been found dead or killed in fake encounters. Human Rights Organization, United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies of forced disappearances and target killings in Balochistan.
