On Sunday night, an explosion severely damaged a gas pipeline in the Kohbash area of Balochistan’s Bolan district.

According to reports, unknown assailants used explosives to target the 24-inch diameter pipeline. Following the incident, a large contingent of security forces arrived at the site and launched an investigation.

Historically, gas pipelines in Balochistan, which supply energy to other provinces of Pakistan, have frequently been targeted by Baloch ‘pro-independence’ groups. However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the Bolan pipeline explosion.

In a separate incident, three explosions and gunfire were reported in the Soro area of Mand town, targeting a Pakistani military camp on Saturday night. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed responsibility for this attack.

Major Gohram Baloch, spokesperson for the BLF, stated that BLF ‘Sarmachars’ (fighters) attacked the Pakistani military camp in Mand Soro at 9 PM, using heavy and modern weapons. “The enemy forces suffered both human and material losses in the attack,” he said. Major Baloch added that the BLF would continue its attacks on what it calls “occupying forces” until Balochistan is liberated.

These incidents follow a recent surge in attacks on Pakistani security forces across Balochistan. Last week, Pakistani forces protecting major gas fields were attacked in the Kalat and Quetta districts. At least 13 Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed in these attacks, with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claiming responsibility.

The BLA also released video footage of their attack on military positions in Kalat, showing fighters engaging in close combat with Pakistani forces, capturing military positions, and seizing a large cache of weapons.
