The family of a missing person blocked the CPEC route in protest, and a long queue of vehicles formed due to the closure of the highway, in Hoshap tehsil of Balochistan’s Kech district.

Demanding the safe release of higher authorities family asserted that to ensure the safe recovery of Imam Sawali otherwise the route from Kech to Quetta would be blocked for an indefinite time.
It is pertinent to mention that forced disappearances are very common in Balochistan. More than 55,000 people are reportedly missing from different areas of Balochistan. While thousands of cases remain unreported due to threats by the intelligence agencies groups. Local and international Human Rights Organizations, the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International have accused law-enforcement forces and its intelligence agencies of these extra-judicial detentions.
On the other hand, the resistance of missing persons’ families to their safe return can be seen in various shapes such as protest rallies and sit-in protest camps. However, state authorities have always failed to provide justice to the families of the victims.
