Pakistani forces have reportedly forcibly disappeared a man from the Dera Bugti district — meanwhile released a “missing person” in Balochistan’s capital Quetta after nine years of detention.

According to reports, Pakistani military forces have allegedly forcibly disappeared a man during an operation in the Bugti Colony of Sui Tehsil in Dera Bugti district. The missing man has been identified as Qurban son Badal Bugti.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Army has launched a large-scale military operation in the Kotgan area of the Zamuran tehsil of Kech district. According to local sources, the forces cordoned off the area in large numbers and tortured people during the search operation. However, arrests or other losses have not yet been revealed due to the complete military siege.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Jan Kurd, who was allegedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani intelligence agencies from Balochistan’s capital Quetta, on July 25, 2015, has been released and returned to his family.

Nasrullah Baloch, the chairperson of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), an organization working against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, confirmed on social media site X that Jan Muhammad Kurd, who was a victim of enforced disappearance from Barma Hotel in Quetta, has been released after nine years.

He further added that we hope that the recovery of other missing persons will be ensured and their bereaved families will be freed from the suffering of a lifetime.
