In a recent development, an official from the Pakistani Frontier Corps (FC), identified as Nadeem Bugti, was found dead in the Mach area of Bolan, Balochistan. Initially reported as a suicide, later investigations revealed that Bugti had been shot with a sniper, indicating that he was killed rather than having taken his own life.

Bolan has been a region often targeted by Baloch freedom fighters, experiencing large-scale attacks, and the incident involving Bugti adds to the prevailing tensions for the security forces in the area. The recurring instances of suicides and desertions among Pakistani forces in Balochistan have raised questions about the challenges and pressures faced by security personnel from the “pro-independence ” groups active in the region.

In addition to this incident, there have been previous reports of suicides within the Pakistani forces, with incidents recorded in Awaran, Kech, and other areas, pointing to a concerning trend of distress within the ranks. In a particularly shocking incident last year in the Dasht area of Kech, an FC personnel reportedly turned his rifle on his fellow servicemen
