Students at Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) University held a demonstration on Monday in Quetta, demanding the recognition of the university’s pharmacy department.

According to details, a large number of students of SBK University Pharmacy Department boycotted classes and raised slogans against the university administration.

The students say that it has been many years since their department was opened, but the HEC is not recognizing it, due to which their academic time is being wasted.

University security officials threatened to stop the students’ protest and disperse the protesters with force. On the other hand, the media was also stopped from covering the protest.

Sardar Bahadur Khan University is the only university for women in Balochistan. According to sources in the higher education department, around 10,000 students are currently studying at the university.

Security was highly tightened inside the university following protests by students. Due to tension on the campus, the entry of people inside the university has been suspended.
