A woman committed suicide in Turbat town of Balochistan’s Kech district on Wednesday.
According to reports, a woman fed up with domestic violence ended her life by ingesting acid. The incident took place in the Singani Sar area of Turbat.
The deceased has been identified as Khair Bibi w/o Balakh Sher Marri.
According to hospital sources, the woman had ingested acid at home and was subsequently brought to the hospital. However, due to severe internal injuries, she tragically passed away.
Before this on Tuesday, a female school teacher committed suicide in Balochistan’s Awaran district after being repeatedly blackmailed by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
The rate of suicide cases in Balochistan is on the rise not only among men but women too. Many women commit suicide due to the depression caused by enforced disappearances of their loved ones, or they are deprived of their fundamental rights, or due to domestic violence.
