The traders’ community in Balochistan announced on Sunday to stage a sit-in protest on the Quetta Karachi highway against robbery incidents.

According to Rahim Agha, the President of Balochistan’s traders’ community, the incidents of looting and robberies were on a constant rise on the Quetta-Karachi highway. It was very difficult for the traders’ community to keep continuing their business on the highway linking Balochistan with Sindh because of robbery incidents, he added.

“Traders will stage a sit-in protest at Lakh Pass against this lawlessness”, Mr. Agha said in a statement issued on Sunday.

National Party (NP) has announced support for the sit-in called by the traders against the increasing incidents of robberies on the highway. According to the NP statement, it has decided to support the protest of the traders’ community against incidents of kidnapping and robberies on the highway.
