Balochistan government has announced to shut all the educational institutions from August 22nd to August 27 due to unprecedented floods and rains in the region.

According to reports, Chief Minister Balochistan, Quddus Bizenjo has made this decision in view of the looming threat of rains and flash floods across Balochistan. As per the official handout issued on Sunday night said that all private and public schools would remain closed from August 22nd to August 27.

Secretary of Balochistan Higher Education, Hafiz Abdul Majid also announced holidays in higher educational institutions from August 22nd to 27th in Balochistan.

The rains and flash floods continue to wreak havoc in region. Balochistan is cut off from the rest of the region through the rail and road network. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has estimated that at least 215 people have been killed in Balochistan and over 10,000 people are displaced from their homes.
