Pakistani forces have allegedly detained four persons and moved them to unknown locations.Three of the missing have been disappeared from Karachi and one from Quetta city of Balochistan.

According to reports, a youth named Waheed Baloch from Lyari area of ​​Karachi was taken into custody by the forces on Wednesday night and forcibly disappeared. Family sources confirmed the incident and said that last night Sindh Rangers and plainclothes personnel who were riding in a black Vigo vehicle took Waheed into custody.

While there are reports from Karachi that Kambar Saleem, a resident of Buleda Mehnaz area of Kech district, is a student of BS Agriculture in Karachi University, who was taken into custody by the the security forces from Karachi and later disappeared.

Another incident took place in Karachi where Irfan son of Abdul Rashid, a student of Biochemistry department of Karachi University, resident of Buleda Mehnaz was taken into custody by forces from Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of ​​Karachi last night and transferred to an unknown location.

Meanwhile, there are reports from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has forcibly disappeared an  M.Phil degree holder. The abductee has been identified as Muslim son of Allah Bakhsh.

According to sources, Muslim has completed his M.Phil from Punjab University and he was preparing for the civil service exams.

Whereas, three other cases of enforced disappearances were reported in past couple of days, from Karachi and Balochistan. As per reports, three Baloch youths were detained and subsequently disappeared by security forces.

On 7th May Pakistani forces allegedly detained a student after the arrest from Chazel-Abad Zamurani town of Hub Chowki. The detainee was a student of Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), who was identified as Zahoor Baloch. As per sources, a large number of forces’ personnel raided Zahoor’s house at 02:00 am, and whisked him away.

 21-year old Zahoor Baloch was a first-year student at LUAWMS and has not been involved in any political activities, sources said.

The family of Zahoor Baloch said that “no law permits for disappearing youths by breaking into their houses like thieves.” They demanded to the officials to bring Zahoor Baloch back.

In another news, a student of MA Balochi literature in Turbat University, Kaleem Shareef was forcibly disappeared by the security forces, on 29th April from Absar area of Turbat. The news of his abduction was released on Tuesday this week.

While, in another incident on 6th May, Pakistani forces reportedly disappeared a man after arresting him from Karachi city of Sindh province. The detainee was identified as Danish s/o Basheer resident of Gwadar.

According To sources, Danish is an employee at Gwadar port, who was going to Karachi, where forces abducted him.

It is pertinent to mention that, since February, 2022, a large number of Baloch students have been disappeared. While political and human rights activists are expressing concerns over the forceful detention of Baloch students.
