Two police officials, including one civilian were injured in a firing incident in Sibi district of Balochistan, on Monday.

The incident occurred near Hambal Baba area of Sibi. A passerby was also hurt as a result of the gunfire.

The Superintendent of Sibi Police, Dostain Dashti confirmed the incident to the media saying “the police squad was on its way to raid the former sub-inspector Hidayatullah’s house, who is wanted by Quetta police in several cases. When the officers reached his place, he opened fire at them, which resulted in wounding two officials.”

Following the encounter, the accused fled the scene.

The two injured ATF team members have been identified as, Shaukat Marghzani and Riaz.  Whereas, the wounded passerby was identified as Ali Nawaz.

The injured police officers have been transferred to a hospital. While a search for the accused has begun.
