The Deputy Commissioner of Mastung on Thursday suspended 2 personnel of Levies Force for killing and filming a donkey.

According to details, two levies men filmed the killing of a donkey in Kardigap tehsil of district Mastung. The video went viral and caused outrage on social media platforms. 

The people strongly condemned the act and demanded action against the responsible Levies personnel.

“The Deputy Commissioner has suspended both the levies personnel”, a notification issued by the DC’s office said. The levies personnel identified as Muhammad Asim and Gul Khan.

The DC has formed an inquiry committee comprising the assistant commissioner Mastung to probe into the incident. The committee will submit its report with two days, the notification said.

In the video, the levies men open fire on the donkey and then film the whole scene. This caused outrage on social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. 

The incident was strongly condemned by the people and they called for action against the responsible personnel. In a result, the Deputy Commissioner took action against the both Levies personnel.

Whereas, the district administration of Kardigap and Levies explained that the donkey had gone mad and had injured a child and an old man. The child was referred to Quetta for further treatment.

According to the their statement, the residents of the area informed the administration about the incident. “Later, the levies personnel killed the donkey at the behest of the donkey’s owner in order to save more people from harm,” Levies officials explained.
