According to details, a passenger van while traveling from Quetta to Jacobabad, collided with a Mazda truck in Mithri, due to which 21 people died, and five more received injuries, which includes women and children, some of them are said to be in a critical condition.

According to Dr. Yasir, the Deputy Commissioner of Sibi, that emergency has been imposed in the Civil Hospital, while some of the injured have been taken to private hospitals.

Authorities say that the accident was caused by high speeding.

It is to mention that, three accidents have occurred in Balochistan in one day. Earlier, a vehicle hit a motorbike coming from the opposite direction in Guargo area of Panjgur district, injuring 3 people on the motorbike.

While the three injured men were being shifted to hospital, they succumbed to the injuries on the way. The 3 persons died in the motorbike accident are said to be brothers. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.

Meanwhile, Two more persons named Hidayatullah and Muhammad Zareef were wounded in a road accident near to Yaroo, who have been shifted to the nearest hospital.

Road accidents are a common occurrence in Balochistan due to outdated roads. The national highways have not been upgraded for decades and the inadequate dual carriageways have also proved fatal for the increasing traffic.
