A handout issued by the District Health Officer of Lasbela states that so far twenty cases of coronavirus have been reported in Lasbela district.  Three more positive cases were reported today, from the Indus Hospital laboratory.

The handout said that a female resident of Akbar Colony of Hub city, suffering from kidney infection had gone to Karachi on May 8, for treatment. During the treatment, she contracted Coronavirus. The staff tried to save the life of the patient but yesterday the relatives of the affected woman took her out of the isolation room without notice.

It was further said that after being contacted by the Karachi administration, the local administration traced the location last evening. The rapid response teams on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner Hub, reached the house of the patient but she had died before the rescue.

According to health department, 87 new cases and 5 more deaths have been reported today.

According to the health department, Balochistan has reported 87 new coronavirus cases, the number of total infections now stands at 2,544.

Five more people died of the virus in Balochistan — its highest daily death toll so far — taking the toll to 36.

“Due to increasing local transmission and less [adherence to] disease prevention protocols, the mortality (deaths) is increasing,” the Balochistan health department said.
