‘Sachkaan’ monthly magazine’s advertisements are banned by DGPR for the reason is believed to be the negative reporting against the government.

According to details, Sachkaan is a monthly Balochi magazine based in Gwadar and read across the Balochistan. Magazine is ABC certified and publishes about Balochi literature, language, essays, stories and several other topics about Balochistan.

Directorate General of Public Relations (DGPR) has reportedly received complaints of Sachkaan publishing anti-government materials, due to which the advertisements to the magazine are banned.

In the past many newspapers and magazines have been completely banned in the country for publishing forbidden reports and news by the government. Numerous journalists and writers have also complained of receiving threats or being attacked for their critical writings.

Critics have said that freedom of speech and of the press has always been under attack in Balochistan by Pakistan army and government.
