12th death anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti was commemorated in Balochistan and other parts of the world on Sunday.

According to the details received by The Balochistan Post, the 12th death anniversary of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was commemorated by Baloch activists and poltical organizations in Balochistan and foreign countries.

Nawab Akbar Bugti, a prominent Baloch leader and head of Bugti tribe, was martyred this day in 2006 in a military operation on orders of dictator General Parvez Musharaf.

Baloch Republican Party(BRP) held events in London, Athens and South Korea and Balochistan to commemorate 12th anniversary of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

The BRSO (Baloch Republican Students Organizations) held a memorial refrence in Germany to pay tribute to Akbar Bugti.

Another Baloch pro freedom party, BNM in a statement said, “Nawab Akber Bugti has set an example for entire Baloch nation how to achieve their goal of freedom”.

Spokesman of Baloch National Movement stated that “ Nawab Bugti sacrificed his life for the freedom of Balochistan and he wil be remembered in the history for not surrendering before tyranny”.

Brahumdagh Bugti, grandson of Nawab Akber Bugti and president of the BRP said in a tweet, “12 years since my grandfather, father of the nation Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti sacrificed his life struggling for his people. The Baloch nation & the world remembering & paying tribute to him today shows he won & his enemies faced humiliating defeat”.

Another Political leader and former ambassador of Pakistan to Sri Lanka and the United States, Hussain Haqani, on this occasion in a tweet sharing a picture of Nawab Akbar Bugti and founder of Pakistan Mohammed Ali Jinnah shaking hands, said, “In memory of Nawab Akbar Bugti, who was killed in cold blood this day in 2006. Here he is with the founder Pakistan. Hyper-patriots & establishment must pause to think why & how patriots are transformed into rebels”.

According to The Balochistan Post social media reporter, on the death anniversary of Nawab Bugti, Baloch social media activists held campaigns on Twitter and other social media websites.
